This REF:2506-4%CHG Applicator Brush is a premium single-use sterile skin antisepsis device, formulated with 4% chlorhexidine gluconate (CHG) as the sole active ingredient, featuring a 100% alcohol-free design that eliminates flammability risks and skin irritation associated with alcohol-based antiseptics. As the largest-capacity model in the 4% CHG product line, it is specially engineered for ultra-large area preoperative skin preparation, catering to complex surgical scenarios that demand extensive, long-lasting disinfection without compromising skin integrity.
The ergonomic handle and large-format medical sponge head ensure one-handed operation and even solution distribution, with zero leakage design to prevent solution waste and cross-contamination during storage and use.
Storage Instructions: Store between 15-30℃ (59-86°F), avoid freezing and excessive heat above 40℃ (104°F). Keep the product in its original individual sterile packaging, placed in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight, moisture, sharp objects and corrosive substances. Do not remove the packaging until ready for use to maintain sterility and product stability, with a 3-year shelf life from the manufacturing date.
Indications: Exclusively used for the preparation of a patient’s intact skin prior to surgery, effectively reduces pathogenic bacteria on the skin surface that may cause surgical site infections. Suitable for ultra-large area disinfection of limbs, trunk, abdomen and back in major surgeries, including orthopedic joint replacement, spinal surgery, abdominal general surgery, plastic reconstructive surgery and burn surgery peripheral disinfection; also applicable for central venous catheterization and other large-area invasive procedures.
Full Warnings for REF 2506-4% CHG
Basic Usage Warning: For external use on intact skin only.
PREP CAREFULLY - Critical Operational Rules:
Do not use this 26-ml applicator for head and neck surgery, as the large dosage and coverage area are not suitable for delicate head and neck skin and anatomical structures.
Do not use on an area smaller than 8.4 in. x 8.4 in.; switch to a smaller-capacity applicator (3ml/6ml/10.5ml 4% CHG models) for small-area disinfection to avoid excessive solution accumulation and skin irritation.
Do not cover the disinfected area with surgical drapes or use any ignition sources (e.g., electrosurgical cautery, laser, high-temperature equipment) until the solution is completely dry. Drying time requirements: minimum of 3 minutes on hairless skin, up to 1 hour in hairy areas to eliminate residual moisture risks.
Do not allow the antiseptic solution to pool on the skin surface; immediately remove any wet materials, excess solution or damp drapes from the preparation area to prevent skin maceration and irritation.
Strict Contraindications - DO NOT Use Under Any Circumstances:
On patients with known allergies or hypersensitivity to chlorhexidine gluconate (CHG).
For lumbar puncture procedures or in direct contact with the meninges, due to the risk of serious neurological injury.
On open skin wounds, broken skin, mucous membranes, or as a daily general skin cleanser; this product is only for preoperative sterile preparation, not routine skin care.
Additional Safety Guidelines:
Avoid contact with eyes, ears and mouth during use. If solution accidentally enters these areas, it may cause serious or permanent injury; rinse immediately with plenty of cold water and seek prompt medical attention.
Discontinue use immediately and consult a doctor if skin irritation, sensitization, redness, swelling or allergic reaction occurs, as these may be signs of a severe adverse condition.
Keep out of reach of children. If the solution is accidentally swallowed, seek emergency medical help or contact a local Poison Control Center right away without delay.
Product REF | Capacity | Formula | Core Application Scene | Key Safety Feature |
|---|---|---|---|---|
2506260-03 | 26ml | 4% CHG (Alcohol-Free) | Ultra-large area surgery, long-acting disinfection | Non-flammable, no alcohol irritation |
2506105-03 | 10.5ml | 4% CHG (Alcohol-Free) | Large-area routine surgical preparation | Moderate dosage, no pooling risk |
2506006-03 | 6ml | 4% CHG (Alcohol-Free) | Moderate-area minimally invasive surgery | Portable, precise coverage |
2506003-03 | 3ml | 4% CHG (Alcohol-Free) | Small-area targeted disinfection | Micro-dosage, no waste |
2506260-01 | 26ml | 2% CHG +70% IPA | Ultra-large area rapid disinfection | Flammable, complete drying required |
2506260-02 | 26ml | 7.5% PVP-I | Sensitive skin large-area disinfection | Iodine-based, non-flammable |
This comparison table helps clinical staff quickly select the appropriate model based on surgical area, patient skin condition and environmental safety requirements: the 26ml 4% CHG model is the first choice for large-area surgery requiring long-acting antibacterial effect and no flammability risk, especially suitable for operating rooms with fire safety restrictions and patients with alcohol intolerance.
Our company has established a complete post-market surveillance system for this product, covering adverse event reporting, root cause analysis and corrective preventive actions. In clinical use, adverse reactions are extremely rare, mainly including mild local skin irritation (redness, itching) in individual sensitive patients, which usually subsides automatically after stopping use and rinsing with normal saline.
For any suspected adverse events or product quality problems (such as packaging damage, solution leakage, activation failure), medical institutions and users can contact our after-sales team through the official contact information on the packaging. We will respond within 24 hours, conduct on-site investigation and handling if necessary, and report to relevant regulatory authorities in accordance with national medical device adverse event monitoring regulations to ensure continuous product safety and efficacy optimization.
